No to Exportation of Raw Logs from the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Chamber of Commerce strongly believes companies have a social responsibility to the communities they operate in and that the Province has a responsibility to ensure open and fair management of our forest resources. As such the Fort Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce does not support or endorse any company intending to harvest and export raw logs from within the Northern Rockies Regional Municipalities (Fort Nelson Forest District). We call on companies to invest in manufacturing operations within the community and call on the Minister of Forest Land & Natural Resource Operations to ensure forest licenses and permits are available to all companies willing to invest in local economies.
The Fort Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce represents over 225 businesses within the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality and is a strong advocate of local business and community.
